TNTRL IROC Series Format



     The 2011 IROC Series has been scheduled and some big changes are included.  The first is the new driver eligibility rules, see below.  The second is the race format.  We are returning to the format and point system used by the real IROC the last year it was ran.  The last change, we will be using 2011 Mustangs prepared by Roush Racing.   


DRIVER ELIGIBILITY:  Any TNTRL member that competed in a minimum of 6 League events in 2010 is eligible to compete. 


CAR ASSIGNMENTS: The driver's current TNT Cup number will be used as their IROC car number.  A temporary number will be used for those that do not have a TNT Cup number.  Car color will be decided by a blind draw.


STARTING POSITIONS:  The first race will be by random grid, NO QUALIFYING.  After the first race, drivers will be assigned grid position in reverse order of the point standings.  This will be done by an assigned speed you must run in qualifying.


RACE PROCEDURE:   

TRACKS: TNT IROC Tracks  Tire wear will be minimal at these tracks.
RACE LENGTH:  Most races will be approx 100 miles with a competition yellow at the mid-point of the              race.  Pitting during the competition yellow is at the discretion of the driver and is not mandatory.
PIT FREQUENCY: 1X
SETUP: Fixed / Gns physics
DAMAGE: Moderate
WEATHER:  70 Clear with a light and variable wind. Daytona uses 60 Clear.
SERVER OPENS:  7:00 EST
DRIVERS MEETING: 8:00 EST
RACE START:  Following 5 minute HH 

Single file starts and restarts will be used except at Daytona where a doube file start and single file restarts will be used.

The "Lucky Dog" will be used.  There is no racing back to the yellow except with 10 laps or less to go.

All other TNTRL Race Rules and procedures shall apply. 



PIT STOPS: Pitting during the race will be at the driver's discretion.  Normal TNTRL Rules pertaining to pitting will be followed.

        In addition there will 3 points awarded to the leader at the competition yellow, also 2 points for 2nd and 1 point for 3rd.  If we are under yellow at the scheduled lap of the competition yellow, the points will be awarded at the 5th green flag lap following the restart.

        There also will be 5 points awarded to the driver leading the most laps with 3 and 2 points given to the drivers leading the second and third most laps.
 


TIE-BREAKER RULE: In the event of a tie, the driver with the most wins in the current IROC Series will be the Champion.  In the event they remain tied, the driver with the highest average finish for the current IROC Series will be named Champion.  In the event there is still a tie, the finishing order at the final Series race will determine the Champion.



DRIVER CONDUCT:  The TNTRL IROC Series is a premier Series, the drivers competing are expected to conduct themselves accordingly both on and off the track.  All the normal TNTRL Racing Rules will be adhered to for the Series, except there is no protest procedure.  However, if you feel a driver's actions are questionable, please bring it to our attention and that driver will be reviewed.  If his actions are found to be inappropriate, he may be warned, and/or penalized points, and/or dismissed from the Series.   The Races will be reviewed, just as League Races are, and actions will be taken if necessary.

                             

                             

 



These rules may be amended at any time.
Decisions regarding the TNTRL IROC Series shall be made by the TNT Steering Committee and are final.
